The Music Room

The Music Room is a single-level conversion of a Grade II listed building at Chantry Cottages, a working farm about a mile from Aveton Gifford, reached up three steps to the front door. Once used for recitals, it now holds one king-size four-poster bedroom and a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, WC and basin, and sleeps 2.

A large open-plan living space takes up most of the cottage, with a wood burning stove, a dining area and a kitchen, under a vaulted ceiling with stained glass windows and a shiny wooden floor. A grand piano and a home cinema projector with surround sound are part of the room, and the four-poster bed stands on the raised stage where musicians once performed. A cot and highchair can be arranged on request, should visiting family need them.

The Music Room does not accept children, except babes in arms, which makes it suited to couples wanting a quiet break. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent, along with WiFi and a TV with Blu-ray and DVD.

Off-road parking is provided for two cars, and there's a barbecue for outdoor meals. No pets are allowed and the property is no smoking. The shop is just over a mile away and the pub a little further.

Aveton Gifford has a village shop and a pub, and Kingsbridge, about five miles away, has a wider choice of shops and places to eat. Check-in is from 4pm, and bed linen and towels are included in the rent.
