The Barn

The Barn is a reverse-level barn conversion at Chantry Cottages, a working farm about a mile from Aveton Gifford. Two ground floor bedrooms open onto a shared courtyard: a super king-size double that can convert to a twin, with an en-suite bath and shower, and a second super king-size double with its own en-suite shower room. The property sleeps 4.

Upstairs holds the main living space, an open-plan room with a wood burning stove, a dining area and a well-equipped kitchen, reached from a balustraded landing that lets in plenty of light. A utility area off the bedrooms has a washing machine and a freezer, and the kitchen has an electric oven, hob and dishwasher.

Outside is the property's own enclosed garden with a barbecue, plus shared use of a sunny courtyard and six acres of farmland with a fenced wildlife pond, a lawn for picnics and croquet, and benches under the trees; children should be supervised in these shared areas. A cot and highchair are available on request, and bed linen and towels are provided.

Off-road parking is provided for three cars, and WiFi, fuel and power are included in the rent. No pets are allowed, and the property is no smoking.

Aveton Gifford has a village shop and a pub on the edge of the estuary of the River Avon. Bigbury, Bantham and Thurlestone lie within five or six miles along the coast, with sandy beaches and coves to explore, and Kingsbridge is about five miles away for a wider range of shops.
