Preston Down sits within the residential area of Preston, described as being on the edge of Paignton rather than within the town centre itself. The bungalow is arranged entirely on one level with no stairs. Two double bedrooms share a family bathroom with a shower over the bath, and one bedroom includes a small bunk bed suited to children. The kitchen/diner opens through a back door to a conservatory, which leads in turn to a paved patio with table, chairs and parasol, and an enclosed lawn for outdoor play.

Inside, the lounge offers sofa seating, an electric fire and a Smart TV, while family equipment such as a highchair, travel cot, child toilet seat and potty is provided. A dishwasher and washing machine/dryer are included alongside the electric oven and hob.
