Six at Hylands

Perched above Teignmouth, this one-bedroom apartment for two looks out across the town and its sandy shoreline from almost every window. The open-plan lounge, dining and sleeping area makes clever use of the space, with a double bed, comfortable sofa, wardrobe storage and a Smart TV all within the same room. A separate kitchen comes equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge, air fryer and microwave, so self-catering is straightforward without needing to eat out every night.

The shower room contains a shower and WC. Private parking for one car is included on site, which removes the usual coastal-town headache of finding a space. One dog is welcome, though additional charges may apply.

Access to the apartment requires climbing 20 steps from the shared building entrance, so it is worth bearing this in mind if mobility on stairs is a consideration for anyone in your party. The building entrance is shared with other apartments. Check-in is from 15:00 and departure is before 09:00.

The beach, local pubs and shops are all within half a mile on foot. The passenger ferry to Shaldon operates from the river beach nearby, and the town's promenade stretches for well over a mile along the seafront, lined with cafes, restaurants and fish-and-chip shops.
