Deer Lodge

Deer Lodge is a detached lodge set within a wooded valley complex near High Bickington, close to Umberleigh in North Devon. It sleeps four across two ground-floor bedrooms, making it a practical choice for couples or small families who prefer to avoid stairs at bedtime, though the lounge itself is reached via a staircase.

The open-plan kitchen/diner opens through patio doors and is fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Upstairs, the lounge has comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and its own patio doors leading onto a private balcony overlooking the wooded valley. A further decked patio area with outdoor furniture sits just outside the kitchen/diner at ground level.

One of the two bedrooms has a king-size bed and en-suite shower room; the other is a twin zip-and-link that can be converted to a super-king-size bed on request. A separate family bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the sleeping accommodation. Families travelling with young children will find a highchair, travel cot and stairgate provided.

Outside, a private hot tub is tucked to the side of the property, away from the main patio. Parking is available on site for one car. Two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. The lodge has internet access, and the nearest pub is around two miles away, with the beach roughly nine miles distant.
