Little Silver Owl

Little Silver Owl is a russet-coloured shepherd's hut set at the far end of an orchard in High Bickington, reached by three steps up to a private, tiered spot. The studio sleeps 2 in a king-size bed, with a patio giving views across the valley.

Inside, the open-plan living area holds the king-size bed, a seating area with a foldaway dining table, and a wood-burning stove alongside electric under-floor heating. The kitchen has a Belling electric cooker and hob, a Smeg fridge and a Nespresso machine, and there's a vinyl record player with Grado and Sennheiser headphones for quiet listening. A shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC completes the hut.

Outside, the private patio comes with a hot tub, a chiminea that doubles as a barbecue, and a loveseat with table and chairs. Off-road parking is in a shared carpark with a Tesla charging point that also gives a type 2 connection; fees apply and are arranged directly with the owners. Heating, power and a supply of logs are included in the rent, along with bed linen, towels and bathrobes.

Little Silver Owl does not accept children or infants, and no pets are allowed. Smoking is not permitted, and a housekeeping bond is required at booking. The shop and pub are 1.7 miles away, and the three steps up to the hut make it unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.
