Con Mar

Con Mar is a single-storey property set in a raised position above Shaldon, with views across the Teign estuary towards Teignmouth. It sleeps two, making it suited to couples rather than families or larger groups. Steps lead up to the property from the parking area, so this is worth bearing in mind if mobility is a concern.

The open-plan lounge and diner has a wood burner, a Smart TV and a dining table positioned to make the most of the estuary outlook, with an Amazon Echo smart speaker also on hand. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine. The single bedroom houses a king-size bed with a free-standing bath set beside it, along with a vanity area and further storage, plus a second Smart TV and smart speaker. To the rear, a wet room has a rainfall shower and WC.

Outside, an enclosed patio offers table and chair seating along with a BBQ area and outdoor hose, and two Easter Island Head water features add character to the garden space. Private off-road parking is available for one car. Guests should bring their own beach towels.

Shaldon village is around 0.5 miles away, with its zoo, botanical gardens, pub and eateries all close by. Shaldon Beach is roughly 0.3 to 0.5 miles from the property, offering a mix of sand and shingle, while Ness Cove Beach lies less than a mile away and is reached through a former smugglers' tunnel. A passenger ferry crosses the estuary to Teignmouth, around two miles distant, where there are further cafés, restaurants and bars. No dogs are permitted at this property, and internet access is provided. The first supply of logs for the wood burner is included in the stay. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out before 10:00.
