Hygge House

Hygge House sleeps four across two en-suite bedrooms and sits within 50 metres of a virtually private stretch of the River Teign on the South Devon coast. Bring paddleboards, kayaks or dinghies and make use of the direct river access from the property. Shaldon, with its independent shops, pubs, restaurants and wildlife centre, is about a mile away, and a passenger ferry crosses to Teignmouth on the far bank of the estuary.

Each of the two bedrooms has its own en-suite bathroom with a bath, rainfall shower and WC, giving four guests two fully independent facilities. One room has a king-size bed and the other is arranged as a twin. A camp bed can be set up in the lounge to accommodate a fifth person joining the group, as the source describes, though the headline occupancy is four.

The lounge has a wood burner with the first basket of logs supplied, a Sonos surround sound system and a Smart TV. The kitchen runs to an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, with a freezer stored in the garage. Outside, an outdoor seating area with a gas BBQ is provided, and a shed and garage offer storage for bikes, surfboards and watersports kit.

Private parking for two cars is on site. Two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. Travel cot and highchair are available on request, and beach towels can be borrowed for a small extra charge. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure by 10:00.
