Hillcroft Cottage

Hillcroft Cottage is a historic former fisherman's cottage on a narrow lane in Shaldon, a seaside village across the estuary from Teignmouth, which is 1.4 miles away. The cottage sleeps 4 across two bedrooms and one bathroom, arranged over three floors, and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility because of the winding stairs and the low head heights typical of an old building.

The open-plan ground floor holds the living room, kitchen and dining area, with a woodburning stove for cold evenings and a Nespresso machine for breakfast. Narrow stairs with handrails lead up to a king-size master bedroom with a waterfall or hand-held shower in its bathroom, and a further flight leads to a second-floor twin room that partly overlooks the sea.

The kitchen has a dishwasher alongside the usual appliances, and a Smart TV and WiFi cover the evenings in. Gas central heating runs throughout, and logs for the woodburning stove are not supplied but can be bought in the village.

Parking is on-street and first come, first served. A shop is 0.9 miles away and a pub within 0.1 miles. No pets are allowed, the cottage is strictly no smoking, and children under the age of two cannot be accommodated.
