Fishing lodge by two ponds near Bradworthy

This single-storey lodge forms part of a small complex of three near Bradworthy, close to the Devon and Cornwall border. It sits beside two ponds, with the larger stocked for carp and tench fishing (barbless hooks only) and the smaller left as a wildlife habitat, making it a practical base for anglers as well as anyone after a quiet countryside stay.

Inside, the open-plan living area combines a lounge with comfortable sofas and a wood burner, a dining space and a fully equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A smart TV and stereo cover evening entertainment. The first basket of logs for the wood burner is included in the stay.

The lodge has one double bedroom and a single bathroom fitted with a shower over the bath and a WC. A folding bed can be provided for an additional occupant on request, though the property's booked capacity remains two guests. Wi-Fi is included throughout.

Outside, a decked and gated veranda overlooks the pond, with steps leading down to the water, and there is ample off-road parking on site. Up to two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply, and a woodland walk runs through the grounds shared with the other lodges. Towels are not supplied, so guests should bring their own, and a pub and shop are within walking distance for anyone not wanting to drive.
