Three-storey Salcombe house, a downhill walk to town

Waders is a three-storey semi-detached house in Salcombe, around a ten-minute, mostly downhill walk from the town's shops and waterfront, so allow more time for the walk back up. It sleeps 6 across three bedrooms: a first-floor master double with a wardrobe and chest of drawers, a first-floor twin room with two 3ft beds, bedside tables, a wash-hand basin and its own shower cubicle, and a second double bedroom with hanging space on the third floor. A family bathroom with a bath, shower over and shaver point sits alongside a separate WC on the top floor.

A small courtyard garden sits at the front of the house, leading into a sitting room with two sofas, a chair and a 50-inch smart TV with soundbar. Stairs lead down to an open-plan kitchen and dining area with new flooring, an extendable table for six and a second TV with occasional chairs. The recently renovated kitchen has an electric oven and grill, a four-ring hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle. WiFi covers the house, and electric panel heaters provide the heating.

Waders welcomes one well-behaved dog. At the rear is a garden with a raised terrace, outside seating and an enclosed grassed area. Parking is on the roadside on a first-come, first-served basis, and guests need to bring their own beach towels as only bed linen is supplied. Smoking is not permitted, and the walk back up from town is worth planning around.
