Topcliff Cottage

Built in 1860, Topcliff Cottage spreads across three floors and sleeps four in two bedrooms. The king-size room sits at the top beneath exposed wooden beams, while the twin bedroom is on the first floor alongside a family bathroom fitted with a roll-top bath and a walk-in shower. A snug tucked under the eaves on the top floor comes equipped with a PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Smart TV and bean bags, making it a practical retreat for younger guests.

The sitting room on the ground floor has a bay window, reclining sofas and a Smart TV, with a wood-effect electric fire for cooler evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave with air fryer function, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A dining area seats four comfortably beside the kitchen, and a first-floor balcony overlooks the rear courtyard.

Outside, a private courtyard to the rear includes raised flower beds, mood lighting and outdoor dining. Off-road parking is available for one small or medium-sized car, with additional street parking roughly 100 metres away. The cottage has steep stairs throughout and is unsuitable for wheelchair users or guests with limited mobility. One dog is welcome, though additional charges may apply. A highchair, travel cot and stairgate can be arranged on request.

Shaldon village centre is a short level walk along Riverside, where you will find pubs, cafes and independent shops. The Ness headland is close by, with views over the estuary and access to a historic smuggler's tunnel leading to a beach. A pedestrian ferry connects the village to Teignmouth throughout the day and into the early evening.
