Teign Cottage

Teign Cottage is a detached, thatched cottage in Shaldon, a short stroll from the Teign estuary slipway and a level walk from the village centre. The cottage sleeps 4 across two bedrooms and one bathroom, arranged over two floors.

A sitting room with an electric flame-effect fire sits off the hall from the kitchen/dining room, and there's a separate WC on the ground floor. Steep, winding stairs lead up to a double bedroom with a king-size bed and river views, and a twin room, sharing a first-floor bathroom with a bath and shower over.

The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine alongside the usual appliances, plus a fridge-freezer, and the TV comes with Sky and Netflix. Central heating runs throughout, fuel and power are included in the rent, and a cot is available for younger guests.

An enclosed terrace at the front is a spot for alfresco meals, and two well-behaved dogs are welcome, for a fee per dog. Parking is in a public car park 500 metres away, with weekly tickets available and unloading possible outside the cottage.

Shaldon itself has a small zoo, a smugglers tunnel down to Ness Cove and a passenger ferry across to Teignmouth. Being thatched, the cottage is strictly no smoking, with no barbecues or candles permitted, and a pub is 0.1 miles away.
