The Salt House

This property sits in an elevated spot in Appledore, North Devon, within walking distance of the village's shops, pubs, restaurants and fishing quay. A summer ferry crosses the estuary to Instow, and the sandy beach at Westward Ho! lies around two miles away.

The ground floor has a welcoming hallway, a downstairs WC and a spacious kitchen/diner with French doors onto the garden, fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The washing machine is housed in a nearby cupboard. Upstairs, the lounge enjoys estuary views along with a Smart TV and hi-fi, though the staircase leads directly into this room, so care is needed with young children.

Sleeping up to five across three bedrooms, two doubles and a single, the first floor also houses the bathroom, which has a shower-over-bath and WC. A travel cot and highchair are available on request, making this a practical option for a family group.

Outside, an enclosed patio garden to the rear offers garden furniture, and secure storage is provided for bikes, wetsuits and surfboards. Roadside parking is available, with additional car parking around 100 yards away (a week-long permit costs £16). Wi-Fi is included throughout. Dogs are not permitted, and arrival is from 17:00 with departure by 10:00.
