Ebb Tide Cottage

This three-storey cottage sits in the estuary-side village of Appledore, within walking distance of shops, bistros and the village quay. Period character runs through the property, with exposed beams and a stone fireplace fitted with a wood burner-effect fire forming the centrepiece of the lounge/diner, where a dining table seats four to five alongside a separate sofa area with a Smart TV and DVD player.

The galley-style kitchen is equipped with an oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. Sleeping five across three bedrooms, the layout has a king-size room with estuary views and its own TV on the first floor, along with a single room, while the twin bedroom occupies the second floor and is reached via steep, cottage-style stairs leading straight into the room; this top-floor twin also has a TV and Nintendo Wii. The single bathroom, on the first floor, has a shower-over-bath and WC, with a further external WC off the courtyard also housing a small freezer.

Outside, a patio courtyard garden to the rear provides table and chairs for outdoor meals or drinks. Parking is available on the roadside nearby rather than on a private drive, and internet access is provided. A travel cot and highchair are available for younger guests, making this a practical option for families.

Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges possibly applying. Given the steep stairs to the second-floor twin room, this layout suits confident climbers rather than those needing easy access throughout. Arrival is from 3pm and departure before 10am.
