The Retreat

The Retreat is a single-storey lodge in an elevated position on Ladram Bay Holiday Park in Otterton, Devon, with coastal views said to stretch towards Portland Bill. The two bedrooms provide beds for 4, and a sofa bed in the living room adds 2 more, taking the total to 6.

The open-plan living space has a kitchen, a dining area seating four and a sitting area with a TV and a sofa bed. The king-size bedroom has its own en-suite basin and WC, and there's a separate twin room; a shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC serves the rest of the lodge. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

Outside, the enclosed front garden has lawn, patio, decking and furniture. Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars, and guests can use the park's on-site swimming pool, gym, entertainment centre, children's play area, soft play and crazy golf, though the pool carries an additional charge. The beach and a shop are both 0.1 miles away, and the pub is a mile.

No pets are allowed and smoking is not permitted. Bookings need a minimum stay of 3 nights. The village of Otterton itself is set back from the coast among rolling countryside, with the South West Coast Path around a mile from the lodge.
