11 The Green

This partly thatched, Grade II listed cottage sits in a terrace beside the village green in Otterton. The front door opens straight into a spacious kitchen with a traditional range, and the sitting room has a log burner and glass doors through to a sunny dining room, both of which can open onto the garden.

Upstairs, a double bedroom has a four-poster bed, and the twin room converts to a big double on request. They share a bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin and WC. Some doorways have low lintels, from 5'8", worth knowing if anyone in your group is tall.

The kitchen has a microwave, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher, and there's a TV with Freesat and DVD, WiFi and a phone line. Electric central heating runs alongside the log burner, with fuel and power included in the rent. A cot and highchair are available on request, and a sofa bed in the sitting room adds sleeping space.

The south-facing garden is enclosed, with a seating area and steps up to terraced lawns above the village. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Parking is usually available on a quiet road nearby, though electric car charging is not permitted at the property. Smoking is not permitted, and a returnable bond applies.
