The Old Parlour

The Old Parlour is a detached cottage converted from an old milking parlour, set amongst farmland in Sampford Courtenay. Downstairs, an open-plan living space is big and bright, with a seating area, dining area and kitchen, and doors onto a sunny patio for warm days. The cottage sleeps 4 across two bedrooms.

A king-size double bedroom sits on the ground floor, and stairs from the seating area lead up to a gallery, a quiet spot for reading or board games, then through to a twin bedroom curtained off from the sitting area below. Both bedrooms share a shower room with shower, WC and basin. Underfloor heating runs throughout, and the kitchen has a microwave, fridge with a freezer compartment, washing machine, dishwasher and a TV with DVD; WiFi is provided too.

Off-road parking is provided for two cars, and the gardens are well tended with ponds and a brook where wildlife gathers. A good village inn lies just a quarter of a mile along the lane, and Okehampton, around two and a half miles away, has a wider choice of eateries, a cinema and a leisure centre. Dartmoor is within easy reach for walking and off-road cycling.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at the property, and smoking is not permitted. All bookings must start or end on a Saturday.
