Langdale Lodge

Langdale Lodge is a single-storey timber lodge on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, set within the owner's grounds near Sampford Courtenay and surrounded by fields. A front decking area with bistro seating looks out over the countryside, a spot for meals outside with a glass of wine.

Inside, a studio-style open-plan living space holds a compact kitchenette, a dining area and a sofa in front of a small woodburning stove, with a wall-mounted TV. The double bedroom sits behind the living area, and a shower room has a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

The kitchenette has a combi oven, grill and microwave, and WiFi covers the lodge, with electric central heating backing up the woodburning stove; fuel and power, plus bed linen and towels, are included in the rent. A footpath from the property leads into the owner's field and down to a lake that guests are welcome to explore, and wildlife CCTV cameras and bike racks are also on site.

One well-behaved pet is welcome, specifically a small dog. Off-road parking covers one car, and electric car charging is available at an additional cost by arrangement with the owner. Sampford Courtenay has a thatched-roof pub serving food around half a mile away, with a wider range of shops in the nearby town of Okehampton.
