The Old Chapel

The Old Chapel is a single-storey converted chapel in the village of Ilsington, near Haytor on Dartmoor. It sits next to a churchyard, so it's worth bearing in mind if that matters to your group. Presented over one floor throughout, it sleeps 2 in a single king-size bedroom with its own en-suite shower room.

The open-plan living space has a kitchen, dining and sitting area warmed by a woodburning stove, with the starter fuel included in the rent, plus underfloor heating from a ground source heat pump. The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher, and the sitting area has a Smart TV, Google Nest and WiFi. The en-suite has a walk-in shower, double basin and WC.

Outside, a patio has furniture and a gas barbecue for meals outdoors. Off-road parking covers 1 car. A small travel cot and highchair are available on request, though The Old Chapel does not accept pets.

The village shop is 0.6 miles away and the pub 0.5 miles, both an easy walk. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, and bed linen, towels, fuel and power are all included in the rent, along with the starter for the stove.
