Rookwood

Rookwood is a white-washed stone cottage in Drewsteignton, a village on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The stairs inside are steep and uneven, with a handrail, so the cottage suits guests happy with stairs. It sleeps 4 across two king-size bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the pub is around 350 yards from the door.

One king-size bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, basin and WC. The second is a zip-link room that can be made up as a twin on request, and this one is served by a ground-floor bathroom with a freestanding bath, a separate shower, basin and WC. Downstairs also holds a kitchen/diner, a utility room and a living/dining room built around a woodburning stove.

The kitchen has an electric Rangemaster oven and hob, a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washer/dryer, plus a Smart TV with Freeview and WiFi. Fuel, power and a starter pack for the woodburning stove are included in the rent, and a travel cot, highchair and stairgate can be requested for younger guests. Outside, an enclosed rear courtyard has furniture for meals outdoors.

Rookwood takes one well-behaved dog. Parking is roadside and not designated, with a village car park nearby as a backup, and the property is strictly no smoking. Shopping and further pubs are in Chagford, about 3.6 miles away.
