Primrose Cottage

Primrose Cottage stands on Church Street in the Devon village of Kenton, one of a row of nine terraced cottages opposite the church, within reach of Lympstone on the Exe Estuary. It is a Grade II listed former workers' cottage dating to the 19th century, with two woodburning stoves warming its two connected reception rooms.

Two bedrooms sit upstairs, a double and a single, with a sofa bed in the ground-floor sitting room adding a further sleeping option; the cottage sleeps 4 in total. The family bathroom, with a bath and shower over, is also upstairs, and there is a separate cloakroom on the ground floor.

The kitchen sits two steps down from the sitting room, a beamed room fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. A sun room off the second living room looks over a small private courtyard, a quiet spot for a cup of tea. Electric heating and the two stoves, with a starter pack of fuel, are included in the rent, alongside TV, DVD player and WiFi.

Outside, a stable-style back door leads down a gravelled path to an enclosed, private garden reached via a shared lane, with a shed, patio furniture and a barbecue for alfresco meals. Roadside parking is available outside, with a free public car park also nearby. A travel cot, stairgate and highchair are on hand for younger guests, but Primrose Cottage does not accept pets or smoking, and check-in runs only on a Monday or Friday.
