Searles

Searles sits right on the water's edge in Lympstone, a village on the Exe estuary with a station, four pubs and a village shop. Lympstone Manor, the village's Michelin-starred restaurant, is close by. The cottage's terrace fronts the shore, and it sleeps 4 across two bedrooms on two floors, with a family bathroom upstairs shared by both rooms.

Upstairs, a double bedroom and a twin room, whose beds zip together to form a king-size double, share a bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin and WC. Downstairs holds a sitting room with a bay window, a kitchen/diner with slate floors, a utility room and a separate cloakroom.

The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher, and gas central heating covers the cottage. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent, and WiFi covers the property throughout.

Outside is a private waterside terrace with table and chairs, a spot for meals looking over the estuary. Searles takes one small, well-behaved dog, and there's no smoking inside. Parking is on the road nearby or at a local car park; the owner provides a permit covering long-stay car parks across the East Devon District Council area. Exmouth and Topsham are each about 3 miles away along the Avocet Line path, on foot or by train, and the pub and shop are a 5-minute walk. A dog-friendly stretch of Exmouth beach is within reach too.
