Junket Studio

Junket Studio is a detached contemporary cottage set into the riverbank in Noss Mayo, about a mile from Newton Ferrers, with views up and down the River Yealm. Seventeen open-tread metal steps lead down from the car to the front door. It sleeps 2 in a single king-size double bedroom, with a shower room, WC and basin.

The sitting room has a dining area looking out over the water, room for a child's folding bed by arrangement, and a compact kitchen fitted with a fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine. A table and chairs sit out on a sundeck above the river, and the cottage shares a quay with a slipway and mooring with one other cottage. There isn't a garden at this property.

One well-behaved dog aged over a year is welcome, and no smoking is permitted. The waterside pubs are around 500 yards away, and Mothecombe's sandy beach and the rock pools at Wembury are both within reach for a day out.

Off-road parking is provided for one car, and WiFi, phone, fuel and power are included in the rent. Short breaks run to a minimum of three nights.

Across the water, Newton Ferrers has a butcher, chemist, post office and general store, reachable on foot via causeways at low tide or by a seasonal ferry. Plymouth, about 10 miles away, has shops, restaurants and a theatre for a day out.
