Junket Cottage

Junket Cottage is a semi-detached stone cottage in Noss Mayo, overlooking the River Yealm and around a mile from Newton Ferrers. It sleeps 4 across two bedrooms upstairs: a double with an en-suite shower room and a twin, with a further bathroom with a bath on the ground floor.

The sitting room has a wood burning stove, and the kitchen has a dining area for leisurely meals, a fridge, freezer, tumble dryer, washing machine and dishwasher. Across the lane, reached through a gate, is the cottage's own outdoor seating area, from which steep steps lead down to the riverbank, where guests share a table and chairs, a slipway and a mooring with one other cottage.

Noss Mayo suits boating visitors, with a public slipway 100 yards from the cottage for launching a dinghy, and paddleboard or wakeboard hire nearby. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, though not allowed upstairs, and puppies under a year old cannot stay. Low lintels from 5'9" upstairs are worth noting for taller guests.

Off-road parking is provided for three cars, and WiFi, phone, fuel and power are included in the rent. No smoking is permitted, and short breaks run to a minimum of three nights.

Across the water, Newton Ferrers has a butcher, chemist, post office and general store, reachable on foot via causeways at low tide or by a seasonal ferry. Mothecombe beach and the rock pools and marine conservation centre at Wembury are both within easy reach, and Plymouth is about 10 miles away.
