Elphinstone

Elphinstone sits on the banks of the River Yealm in Newton Ferrers, a multi-level house with a number of steps and stairs between its four floors, worth considering before booking. The living space is on the ground floor and the four bedrooms are spread across the three floors above, and the house sleeps 8.

A twin room with a juliette balcony over the river sits on the top floor, with its own en-suite bathroom. Below it, a double bedroom has a king-size bed, an en-suite shower room and french doors onto a private balcony. The first floor holds the remaining two bedrooms: a super king-size room with its own furnished balcony and en-suite bathroom, and a further double with a king-size bed, river views and an en-suite shower room.

On the ground floor, the sitting room has a feature fireplace with a gas fire and a separate snug area with a second TV, and tri-fold doors open onto a decked area overlooking the river. The kitchen-diner has its own tri-fold doors onto a wisteria-clad verandah, and a utility room off the hallway has washing facilities. Elphinstone can also be reserved at a discounted rate for smaller groups needing fewer bedrooms.

Elphinstone does not accept pets, and smoking is not permitted. Parking is on the road outside the property. The pub and shop in Newton Ferrers are a short walk away, and Plymouth is 8 miles by road. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.
