Detox Dunchideock

This single-storey studio lodge sits in the owner's grounds in the village of Dunchideock, about 5.5 miles from Exeter and fully separate from the main house. It sleeps 2 in an open-plan layout with a double bed, kitchen, dining and sitting area, plus a shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, and the lodge has a Smart TV with DVD and a record player. Electric central heating and an electric fire keep it warm, and fuel, a welcome pack, bed linen, towels and robes are all included in the rent.

There is no WiFi at the lodge, and the shower runs at low pressure. A single-track lane leads to the off-road parking space, and two sets of five steps then lead up through the owner's gardens and greenhouses to reach the lodge, so it isn't suited to anyone with limited mobility. Outside there's a lawned garden with furniture. The River Teign and Canonteign Falls are worth a visit, and Haldon Forest is about two miles off for mountain biking and orienteering, with riding stables within walking distance.

No pets are allowed, and smoking is not permitted indoors. The nearest shop and pub are both 2.9 miles away.
