Burham Barn

Burham Barn stands just outside Dousland, near Yelverton on Dartmoor's south-western slopes, reached along a third of a mile of private drive within the owner's grounds. This single-storey cottage, converted from a barn, is set up for couples only and does not accept children.

The open-plan living space has a beamed ceiling and glazed doors onto a garden room. The king-size double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, and a second bathroom has a shower, giving two bathrooms in total for the one bedroom.

The kitchen area has a microwave, fridge, freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher, and the sitting area has a TV with DVD and WiFi. Underfloor heating runs throughout, with fuel and power included in the rent.

Outside is a private patio with a table and chairs, and guests are welcome to wander the owner's gardens and meadows. Off-road parking is provided for two cars. Smoking is not permitted, and a pub is within a mile along nearby footpaths and lanes.

Yelverton itself has good walking and cycling routes, including the Drake's Trail, which links Tavistock and Plymouth through wooded valleys and open moorland. Nearby Burrator Reservoir has walks for families and nature lovers, and Buckland Abbey, Tavistock and Plymouth are all a short drive away.
