Wisteria Cottage

This semi-detached cottage in Parkham, near Bideford, sleeps four across two bedrooms. An entrance hall with storage for coats and shoes leads into an open-plan living room, kitchen and diner furnished with two leather sofas, a flame-effect fire and a Smart TV with DVD player. The dining table seats four and looks out over the garden, while the kitchen has painted units, grey worktops and a Tassimo coffee machine alongside the usual fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave.

Upstairs, the first bedroom has a king-size bed, a built-in wardrobe and a dressing table, and comes with an en-suite bathroom containing a bath with showerhead attachment, a separate shower cubicle, WC and his-and-her sinks. The second bedroom also has a king-size bed and a wardrobe, and is served by a separate shower room with a walk-in shower, WC and heated towel rail. A washing machine and dishwasher are provided, along with a clothes airer and pegs for outdoor drying.

Outside, the garden is fully enclosed with a lawn and patio, set up with a table and chairs for outdoor dining and a charcoal BBQ, plus an outdoor hose for rinsing off sandy feet or muddy boots. A private car port to the front of the property has space for two cars. The owner also supplies a beach windbreak, four folding picnic chairs, two loungers, a picnic set and a wheeled cool-box, though visitors are asked to bring their own beach towels.

Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying, though they are not permitted on the furniture or upstairs. CCTV is installed on the wall of the cottage, aimed at the carport and driveway rather than the garden. A traditional pub is a short walk from the property, and the nearest shop is around 5.5 miles away. Arrival is from 16:30 and departure is before 11:00.
