Waters Edge

Waters Edge is an upside-down cottage in Appledore, near Westward Ho, arranged with living space upstairs to take advantage of views across the Torridge estuary towards Instow. It sleeps six across three ground-floor bedrooms, making it a practical option for two families or a larger group who prefer not to manage stairs to bed.

The ground floor holds a double bedroom with its own en-suite shower room, a king-size bedroom that can be set up as a twin on request, and a further twin room. A family bathroom completes this level, fitted with a walk-in shower and a free-standing bath. Upstairs, the open-plan lounge and kitchen looks out over the water, with a Smart TV, comfortable seating and a dining table positioned to make the most of the outlook. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

A rooftop terrace with patio furniture gives a private outdoor spot for morning coffee, and there is an outside shower for rinsing off after surfing or paddleboarding. One small, well-behaved dog is welcome, with additional charges applying. A travel cot and highchair can be provided, and a stairgate can be fitted at the top of the stairs on request, useful given the living areas are up a flight from the bedrooms.

There is no private parking at the property; visitors rely on on-street parking or a long-stay ticket for the Appledore public car park, roughly 300 metres away, at an additional cost of around £16 a week. A pub and restaurant lie within 80 metres and shops around 500 metres away, with the beach some 2.5 miles distant. Internet access is available, and electric bikes or scooters are not permitted at the property.
