Walnut Cottage - Kingsteignton

This renovated period stone cottage stands in Kingsteignton, near Newton Abbot, and sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms. Original oak beams and exposed stone walls run through the cosy lounge, which has a Smart TV, while the dining room holds a solid oak table with six chairs and two arched seating nooks built into the wall.

The king-size bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, and the second bedroom has a super-king zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as a twin, sharing use of the family bathroom with its natural stone tiling and rain shower. A well-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, with a small breakfast table for informal meals, and a separate utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer.

A large conservatory at the rear overlooks the garden and makes another spot to sit indoors, while outside a long, enclosed garden offers a patio with table and seating for six plus a picnic table on the lawn. A locked gate at the far end leads over a small stream to a footpath connecting to a nearby pub and a historic church and mill. Toys and games are provided for children, along with a travel cot and highchair on request.

Private parking is available for one car, with additional on-street parking nearby subject to availability. Up to two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying. Towels are provided for the cottage, but guests should bring their own for the beach. Arrival is from 4pm and departure by 10am.
