Trout River Retreat

Trout River Retreat is one of three timber lodges that make up Clifford Bridge Lodges, in a wooded river valley 3.5 miles from Moretonhampstead within the Dartmoor National Park. Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars, and an open-plan living space holds the kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

The lodge sleeps 4 across two bedrooms: a double room, and a ground-floor twin with an en-suite basin and WC. A ground-floor bathroom has a bath, a shower over, a basin and a heated towel rail, though the double bedroom has restricted head height and the stairs to the first floor are an open-tread spiral.

The kitchen has an electric double oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, and the sitting area has a TV with Freesat and WiFi. Ground-floor rooms are heated by gas radiators, with a plug-in oil-fired radiator on the first floor, and decking with furniture sits outside for evenings by the river. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Trout River Retreat does not accept pets, and smoking is not permitted. Because the river runs through the grounds, children must be supervised at all times. The lodge can be booked together with its two neighbouring lodges for a group of up to 12. The nearest shop is 3.4 miles away and the nearest pub 2.4 miles away.
