The Coach House at Thorn Farm

The Coach House at Thorn Farm is a converted stable on a working farm near the village of Bridford, about 4.3 miles from Moretonhampstead in Dartmoor National Park. Exposed stone walls and beams and a staircase built from reclaimed farm ash run through the property, which sleeps 4 across two bedrooms.

Private driveway parking meets an outdoor dining area, and the ground floor holds a utility area. Stairs lead up to the first-floor open-plan living space, with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area warmed by a woodburning stove. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite freestanding bath and walk-in shower, and the second bedroom, with a 4ft 6in double bed, has its own en-suite walk-in shower; both bedrooms open directly onto the garden via stone steps.

The garden is not enclosed and has a patio, furniture, and access to a lockable bike store and the farm's paddocks for walking. A stairgate is available, and a travel cot and highchair can be provided on request. Oil central heating runs throughout, and the kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.

One well-behaved dog is welcome, though dogs must stay on a lead outside because the property sits on a working farm; no smoking is allowed. The open-tread stairs need care, and the owners live next door. The nearest shop is 3.4 miles away and the nearest pub 1.6 miles.
