The Stone Barn At Hock Ridge Farm

The Stone Barn At Hock Ridge Farm sits within the grounds of the owner's farmhouse on a small holding near Fairy Cross, close to Bideford. The setting is a working smallholding with chickens and sheep, and guests are free to wander the land, though any dogs brought along must stay on a lead.

Inside, a hallway with boxed seating gives somewhere practical to store coats, boots and wellies, lit by a large picture window. Just off the hall is a contemporary shower room with a walk-in shower and WC, and a shower stool can be provided on request. The open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner is centred on a wood burner with a first basket of logs included, alongside a Smart TV, sofa and armchair. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a built-in microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. The single bedroom holds a king-size bed and its own Smart TV, with accommodation suited to two guests.

Outside, the kitchen door opens onto a small enclosed courtyard with a patio table and chairs. Parking is provided for one car beside the barn, and a type 2 electric vehicle charging point is available on site by arrangement with the owner, at an extra cost. A nearby utility area gives access to a shared washing machine, and there's an outside warm-water dog shower for cleaning up after walks.

One dog is welcome to stay, with additional charges that may apply. Internet access is available at the property. Arrival is from 3pm and departure is before 10am, with a pub around two miles away and a shop roughly three miles from the barn.
