Little Mead

Little Mead is a recently completed single-level lodge near Fairy Cross, a short drive from Bideford in North Devon, sleeping four across two bedrooms. Parking for two cars is available on site, though guests walk roughly 25 metres along a sloped resin path to reach the front door, so the approach is worth considering for anyone with limited mobility. One dog is welcome, with additional charges that may apply.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area sits at the heart of the lodge, lit by high ceilings and skylights and warmed by underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen is well-equipped with an induction oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, air fryer, dishwasher and washing machine, plus quality cookware and generous worktop space. Wide French doors open the living area to the tiered rear patio, and a Smart TV is provided here as well as in both bedrooms.

Each bedroom has its own en-suite shower room with WC. The first is furnished with a king-size bed and built-in wardrobes; the second has a super-king zip-and-link that can be made into twin beds if requested at the time of booking. Both rooms include a Smart TV.

The private tiered patio to the rear has comfortable seating, a BBQ and an outside tap useful for wetsuits or muddy paws. Lawned grounds surround the lodge, and an unfenced fish pond in the adjacent owner's garden means young children and dogs need supervision outside at all times. Bideford is around 4.5 miles away, a beach is roughly 6.5 miles, and a pub and shops are within 3 miles.
