Cosy cottage retreat near Fairy Cross for two

Honeysuckle Hideaway sits at Fairy Cross, near Bideford, and suits two people looking for a compact base in North Devon. Guests enter through an arched gateway into a mosaic-tiled hallway, leading to a lounge with a wood burner (the first basket of logs is included) and a feature fireplace for evenings in.

The kitchen/diner is fitted with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer, with enough table space for two to eat in comfortably. A door from the kitchen opens onto a small enclosed courtyard with a charcoal barbecue that catches the evening sun. The single bedroom is a large king-size room with country views and its own television, served by an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath, double shower and WC.

Outside, a gated lawn area with an enclosed patio and garden furniture gives further space to sit out, separate from the rear courtyard. Off-road parking is allocated for one car, and Wi-Fi is included throughout the stay. Two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply, and the property cannot accommodate infants.

Bed linen and towels are provided, along with electric and central heating included in the price. The nearest pub is around 1.5 miles away, with shops and the coast a little further afield, making a car useful for exploring beyond the immediate area. Arrival is from 3pm and departure before 10am.
