Single-level Northleigh barn conversion with a wood burner

The Shippen is one of three cottages converted from traditional Devon barns in the hamlet of Northleigh, deep in the lush hedgerow lanes of the Coly Valley about 4 miles from Colyton. Built on a single level, it sleeps 4 across two bedrooms and can be booked together with The Linney and Battens for a combined stay of 14.

The cottage opens from the courtyard into a cosy open-plan living space with a wood burner, a dining area, a kitchen with a fridge-freezer and microwave, and a glass door onto a patio with wide views across the fields.

Both bedrooms, a double and a twin, are on the same level and share a big family bathroom. A cot and highchair are available on request. An adjacent scullery holds a washing machine and tumble dryer, shared with the other two cottages, and an outdoor games barn is also shared between them.

The coastal villages of Beer, Sidmouth and Branscombe are within reach for day trips.

Off-road parking is provided for up to 2 cars, a barbecue is available outside, and two well-behaved dogs are welcome. The cottage is no smoking throughout, with a minimum stay of 4 nights that applies year round.
