The School House

The School House was originally built in 1840 and sits in Ashburton, on the southern slopes of Dartmoor. It is reached via a private driveway through a sliding wrought iron gate, and the open-plan living space has underfloor heating and tiled flooring throughout, with the house sleeping 6 across three en-suite bedrooms.

A double oak staircase leads up to two super-king-size bedrooms, one convertible to a twin on request, each with its own en-suite. The ground floor holds a third bedroom, a double with an en-suite wet room. The kitchen has granite worktops and a breakfast bar, and the dining area seats 6 around an oak refectory table.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, and a Smart TV is fitted in each bedroom and the sitting area, alongside WiFi throughout. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent, and a travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Roadside parking is available, with a pay-and-display public car park about 50 yards away. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, with a village green and play park opposite the house. Smoking is not permitted. Ashburton's shops, cafes and the Exeter Inn are all within walking distance of the front door.
