The Meeting House

The Meeting House is a 17th century, three-storey house in the centre of Ashburton, a Stannary town on the southern edge of Dartmoor. It sleeps 10 across five bedrooms and three bathrooms, spread over three floors, with two separate sitting rooms, each built around its own woodburning stove.

On the first floor, a super-king-size bedroom has an en-suite with a jacuzzi bath and a walk-in shower. A double bedroom on the same floor connects through a lockable internal door to a twin room, useful for families booking together. The second floor holds two further double bedrooms; one has its own en-suite shower and is reached by walking through the other second-floor double, so the two suit the same group, and the family bathroom with a bath and shower over serves the rest of the house.

The kitchen/diner has a Godin stove with a hot plate warmer, a double oven, a double Belfast sink and a large American fridge/freezer, and there's a separate dining room and a study. Central heating runs throughout, and a utility room holds a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Outside, the courtyard has furniture and a barbecue, and a village green with a play park opposite is useful for exercising pets.

The Meeting House welcomes two well-behaved dogs. Parking is on the street, with an additional pay-and-display public car park around 50 yards away, and the property is strictly no smoking. A heated open-air swimming pool is open to the public from May to September nearby.
