The Gate House - Dolton

The Gate House forms part of a Manor with origins dating to around 1050, within walking distance of the village of Dolton, where a shop, post office, butcher and pub are all close by. The property sleeps two in a single king-size bedroom, making it suited to couples rather than groups or families.

A utility and boot room greets you at ground level, with flagstone flooring, a freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The main living space is upstairs, reached via steep wooden stairs typical of a property this age, and guests should also note the low doorways throughout. The first floor opens into a kitchen/diner with a breakfast bar and separate dining table, fitted with an electric range oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. The adjoining lounge has a Smart TV and a wood burner, with the first basket of logs provided and further logs available to purchase from the owner.

The king-size bedroom looks over the grounds and sits alongside a shower room fitted with underfloor heating, a WC and a custom oak and glass shower enclosure. Bath robes and a hairdryer are supplied. Heating is electric and biomass, and high-speed internet is included throughout the stay.

Outside, a small lawned area to the side of the property has a bistro table, chairs and a charcoal barbecue, with wider grounds available to explore. Off-road parking is provided on site, and CCTV covers the parking entrance, though this is unmonitored unless needed. The property does not accept children or infants, and dogs are not permitted.
