Cedar

Cedar sits on the Stafford Moor site near Dolton, a lodge built around lake views and around two miles of walking routes leading straight from the site, useful for anyone bringing a dog along. One well-behaved dog is welcome here, and birdsong and lake wildlife are part of the everyday backdrop.

Downstairs, an open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area sits alongside a ground-floor double bedroom with an en-suite bath, handheld shower and heated towel rail, a twin bedroom, and a separate shower room. A third double bedroom is upstairs, next to a first-floor sitting room that opens onto a balcony with decking and furniture over the lake.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and two TVs plus WiFi cover the lodge, with central heating throughout and fuel and power included in the rent. A non-enclosed front garden with a patio gives further space to sit outside, and off-road parking is provided for 2 cars.

Pleasure fishing on the site's lakes is included, though equipment isn't provided. Smoking is not permitted at Cedar. The shop and pub are 3.2 miles away, and Great Torrington, Winkleigh, Dartmoor, Exmoor and the beaches of Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands are all within driving distance for a day out. Anglers must arrive before 4.30pm to allow time for equipment handling.
