Rod and Rest

Rod and Rest is a single-storey lodge at Stafford Moor, a group of seven fishing lakes near Dolton in rural Devon. It sits back from the water, with open countryside around it and around two miles of walking routes leading straight from the door.

Inside, one open-plan room holds the kitchen, dining area and sitting area, with a sofa bed for extra guests alongside the double bedroom. A shower room has a walk-in shower, basin and WC. Central heating, a TV and WiFi are provided, the kitchen has an electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

Outside, an awning extends the living space over a garden area with furniture, looking out over the surrounding countryside. Fishing on the stocked lakes is included with the stay, though equipment isn't provided, and there's a tackle shop and a shared shower block on site for anglers. Anglers need to arrive before 4:30pm to allow time for equipment handling.

Off-road parking is provided for one car. No pets are allowed and the property is no smoking throughout. Dolton itself has a shop, a butcher and a pub 3.2 miles away, and the lake is just 0.1 miles from the door.
