Cherry

Cherry is a single-storey lodge on a lakeside site near Dolton, with floor-to-ceiling windows that keep the water in view from the open-plan living space. It sleeps 4 across two en-suite bedrooms, and the lakeside setting stays close at hand throughout the stay.

One bedroom has a double bed with TV and an en-suite walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC; the other is a twin with the same arrangement, plus a separate cloakroom. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle and toaster, and there are three TVs and WiFi across the lodge, so there's room for everyone to settle in.

Outside, the enclosed lakeside terrace at the front has a private hot tub and garden furniture, while a separate non-enclosed side garden has decking, astroturf, lawn and lake views. Pleasure fishing is included on the site's lakes, with around two miles of footpaths reachable straight from the doorstep. Gas central heating covers the lodge, and off-road parking is provided for 2 cars. Anglers must arrive before 4.30pm to allow time for equipment handling.

The lake in the garden isn't fenced, so children need supervising at all times. Cherry takes one well-behaved dog, and there's an outdoor tap for washing muddy paws after a walk. Smoking is not permitted. The shop is 3.3 miles away and the pub 3.2 miles.
