Aspen

Aspen is a lodge near Dolton on a lakeside site, sleeping 6 across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. A first-floor sitting room and games area gives extra space to spread out, on top of the main open-plan living area downstairs, making it well suited to a larger family group.

The ground-floor double bedroom sits alongside a second double with its own en-suite bath, shower over, basin and WC, and a twin bedroom; a separate shower room with a heated towel rail serves the rest of the lodge. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and kettle, and there's a TV, WiFi and a selection of games in the sitting area for evenings in.

Outside, the enclosed front decking gives private outdoor space, and a non-enclosed front patio with a picnic bench looks out over the site. Gas central heating covers the lodge, and fuel and power are included in the rent. Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars, and the lakes and surrounding countryside are within easy reach for a day of fishing or walking.

Aspen takes one well-behaved dog, and around two miles of walking paths lead directly from the site. Smoking is not permitted, and anglers must arrive by 4.30pm to allow time for handling their equipment. The shop is 3.3 miles away and the pub 3.2 miles, with Dartmoor, Exmoor and the North Devon coast all within driving distance.
