The Crab Shell

The Crab Shell has estuary views over the meeting of the Taw and Torridge rivers, in the fishing village of Appledore in North Devon. Set over three levels, the house sleeps 6 across three bedrooms, within easy walking distance of the village's shops, cafes and pubs. A short ferry ride crosses to Instow and its sandy beach, and the two miles of sand at Westward Ho! are a little further along the coast.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area is modern and spacious, warmed on cooler evenings by a log burner, with the first basket of logs provided free. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room, one double bedroom has its own WC, and a further bathroom serves the third double bedroom.

The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a washer/dryer, and there's a Smart TV with Freeview and a Blu-ray player in the sitting area. Outside, a patio area has seating for sitting out. A cot and highchair are available on request.

Parking is on the road opposite, on a first come, first served basis, with a public car park nearby. Two well-behaved pets are welcome, with a supplement charged per dog for the stay. No smoking is allowed, and the shops, pubs and restaurants are a five-minute walk away. Some internal renovations are currently taking place next door.
