The Cottage

This stone cottage sits in a row of three similar properties near Parracombe, close to Combe Martin, and suits two couples or a small family of up to four. The ground floor holds a lounge and a kitchen/diner with a tiled floor, while a steep open-tread staircase leads to the two bedrooms above, both with country views. Ceilings in parts of the cottage are low, at 6'6", so taller guests should take note.

One bedroom has a double bed and its own en-suite bathroom with a bath and hand-held shower, while the second has twin beds. A separate family bathroom with a shower over the bath serves the rest of the cottage, and a stairgate is provided for households with young children, though no travel cot is supplied.

The kitchen includes an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, a Nespresso Vertuo machine and a dishwasher. Laundry facilities are in a utility room shared with the two neighbouring properties, fitted with a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board. Outside, guests have use of a furnished decked patio at the front of the cottage and a shared grassed area with picnic tables. Internet access is available, though there is no mobile signal at the property.

Parking is in a designated area around 50 yards from the cottage; guests may unload close by, but the low kerb clearance means the approach is unsuitable for low-suspension vehicles. Two dogs are allowed, with additional charges applying, and smoking is not permitted inside the property or in the grounds. The nearest pub is a two-mile walk away, with the beach also around two miles and a shop some five miles distant.
