Sunnymead

Sunnymead is a Grade II listed cottage in the village of Bickington, near Barnstaple. It sleeps 5 across three bedrooms upstairs, reached by a steep staircase in keeping with the cottage's age.

Downstairs, a snug porch leads into the sitting and dining room, where exposed beams, fresh wooden flooring and wood-panelled walls surround a woodburning stove. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Upstairs, the double bedroom has its own TV, alongside a twin room and a single room, sharing a bathroom with a bath and shower over.

There's roadside parking for one car immediately outside the front garden wall, with a second space available in a paid local car park around 50 metres up the lane. A covered patio leads up steep steps to a large enclosed garden with a summer house, lawn, furniture and a picnic bench, plus a portable barbecue for outdoor meals.

One well-behaved dog is welcome; other pets cannot be accommodated. Smoking is not permitted, and the cottage needs 48 hours' notice before booking, with a minimum stay of 3 nights and no hen or stag parties. The shop is 1 mile away, the pub 0.2 miles and the river 1.2 miles.
