Sunny View - Appledore

Sunny View sits on the quiet outskirts of Appledore, a fishing village on the River Torridge with independent shops, pubs, restaurants and art galleries to explore. The quay is a good spot for fish and chips or crabbing, and a foot ferry crosses to the dog-friendly sandy beach at Instow. Westward Ho!, three miles away, has a long stretch of sand suited to swimmers, surfers and sunbathers. Further afield, RHS Rosemoor and Dartington Crystal are both around eleven miles off, and the Tarka Trail offers eighteen miles of off-road cycling from Bideford or Instow.

The cottage sleeps up to four across two bedrooms. A hallway with coat and boot storage opens into a lounge with comfortable sofas and a Smart TV, ideal for winding down after a day out. The kitchen is equipped for everyday cooking, and a downstairs WC sits off the hallway. Upstairs, a double room and a twin room share a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Patio doors from the lounge lead out to an enclosed garden with patio furniture and a charcoal barbecue, making outdoor meals easy to arrange when conditions allow. Private driveway parking for three cars is set directly beside the cottage, and there is dedicated storage for bikes and surfboards.

One dog can stay, though additional charges may apply. Shops and pubs are under a mile away, and the beach is around three miles from the door. During the festive season the cottage is decorated for Christmas, which is worth knowing if a winter stay is planned. Arrival is from 4pm, with departure by 10am on the day you leave.
