Sanctuary Cottage

Sanctuary Cottage sits near the beach in Shaldon, a three-bedroom cottage sleeping 6 across three bathrooms. A snug with a woodburning stove sits apart from the main sitting room, giving a quieter spot to read while the rest of the group watches the Smart TV next door.

The first bedroom is a super-king-size, made up as a zip/link so it can be split into a twin, with its own en-suite shower room, heated towel rail and WC. The second is another super-king-size on the same zip/link basis, and the third is a double. A family bathroom with bath and shower over serves the remaining bedrooms, and there's a separate ground-floor wet room with a walk-in shower, which can be opened up as a courtyard in summer by removing its glass roof.

The kitchen and dining area sit off the sitting room, fitted with an oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, wine chiller and dishwasher. Gas central heating covers the cottage, and a front patio with furniture makes the most of any sunny spells. A highchair and travel cot are available for younger guests.

Roadside parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are steep steps to the property, worth planning for anyone with heavy luggage or limited mobility. Sanctuary Cottage does not accept pets, smoking is not permitted, and the cottage takes holiday bookings only. The shop, pub and beach are all under a mile away.
