Orchard Retreat

Orchard Retreat is a single-storey, designer lodge set privately in the grounds of the owner's home near Sidmouth, sleeping 5 across two bedrooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with light and look out over a well-planted garden.

A traditional wood burning stove sits in the living space for cooler months. The first bedroom has zip-link twin beds that can be made up as a 6ft double, with glazed sliding doors onto the decked seating area, and the second is a bunk room with a 4ft double on the bottom bunk and a single on top, good for a family. A single bathroom has a bath, shower, washbasin and WC, plus a separate cloakroom with WC and washbasin.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave, and there's a washing machine, a TV with DVD player and WiFi. A cot and highchair are available on request. Outside, a wooden deck runs the length of the lodge, overlooking a private lawned garden with a patio area and table and chairs.

Off-road parking is provided for two cars, with an EV charger on site. No pets are accepted and smoking is not permitted. Bookings run Saturday to Saturday only, more than two days' notice is needed, and short breaks are not available. The gravel path down to the lodge is slightly steep and is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
